Safeguarding Board / Committees
The overall role of Sandwell Safeguarding Children Board (Sandwell SCB) is to coordinate local work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and to ensure the effectiveness of what the member organisations do individually and together.
Members of the Sandwell SCB includes various agencies e.g. Children's Social Care; Adults' Social Care; the Strategic Health Authority and Primary Care Trusts; the NHS Trusts and NHS Foundation Trusts; the Police; Probation; Youth Offending Team; Connexions and CAFCASS
The objectives of the Sandwell SCB are set out in detail in Sandwell SCB Procedures, Chapter 2.1.1 Roles and Functions/Section 1. However, the objectives include the development of inter-agency procedures, monitoring the effectiveness of what is done to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and the undertaking of Serious Case Reviews
